It is with great honor and appreciation that we announce a Naming Rights Partnership between Scottsdale Soccer and the Max A. Shacknai Foundation by the renaming of our annual soccer tournament, the Blackhawks Invitational, to The Blackhawks Max Shacknai Invitational.

A tragic accident this past summer of 2011 took the life of one of our own, Max A. Shacknai. Max was truly born a Blackhawk. In addition to scoring numerous goals as a youngster in Scottsdale Soccer recreational league games, and playing up in the 2010-11 Blackhawks season, the sidelines of his brother’s and sister’s practices and games were never without Max and his soccer ball. After his family and close friends, Max’s passion and love was soccer.

Max’s character, commitment and confidence exemplified the Scottsdale Soccer mission of providing quality soccer for all levels of play, while developing a well-rounded player both on and off the field.

The sponsorship from the Max A. Shacknai Foundation will help Scottsdale Soccer to continue to provide opportunities for children to play soccer.
