Again this year, representatives of The African Orphans Project (AOP) collected from our Blackhawk families at this years Kickoff. The goal every year is to collect as many uniforms for South Africa. Uniforms were collected last year that included pants, shirts, shoes and equipment and distributed by the October 2010 AOP team to the boys in Shongweni, South Africa. A soccer field was constructed, and with the addition of the uniforms, the boys went on to win their first tournament and have had a successful year. It was rewarding to witness first hand the boys proudly displaying the colors of the Scottsdale Blackhawks, complete with shoes. Some of the boys had never laced up a pair of shoes!
The African Orphans Project has built 40 homes, a community center and a day nursery in this remote village. Your contributions have assisted our efforts.
Sincere thanks,
Ken and Laurell Ondrejko
